On a wild, wet and woolly day, Canberra Chapter Convenor, Norm Barker, ably assisted by Roz, organised and led the Convenor’s Mystery Run and BBQ, on Sunday, 9 April. Did everyone get to the BBQ destination? Were the sausages washed away? And who received a surprise award?

Casino Weekend

Wayne led a small but keen group of MX-5ers from the Mid North Coast Chapter on a fabulous 1200km three-day trip to Casino for a couple nights. The middle day featured a drive into Queensland and the Hinze Dam with views over the Gold Coast before looping back via Mount Lindesay. And there was a bit of poker played along the way.

Well after a week of downpours which decided to continue into the weekend... so to set the scene we had a sand and water backdrop moving with the breeze and sound of water flowing down the driveway as well as a welcome gift for each attendee, a “lei” …. lol. A fantastic social night was, thanks Elaine & David Gazzard for hosting!

Hunter's Twilight April Fool's Run

Approximately 15 cars and 25 members gathered at Thornton to catch the last of daylight savings with a twilight run to Port Stephens. All aboard, our run leaders for the evening Elaine and Lyn, decided to pull a late April Fool’s prank on us all by taking a wrong turn straight out of the carpark. A quick loop around the block had us back on the correct path soon enough!
