South Coast Run to the President's Picnic

With only three people on the Booking Sheet this looked like being the smallest club run ever.
Not deterred, we set off from Milton at 8:15am on Saturday with the plan being to meet Illawarra chapter for “Mazdas in the Mist” for morning coffee. On a beautiful clear morning, we had a great run up Cambewarra Mountain, through Kangaroo Valley and up Barrengarry Mountain on the other side. Driving through the Southern Highlands is magic at any time but on a fine Saturday morning, what else would you want to do.
We had a great morning coffee with good friends from Illawarra and then headed off towards Picton for lunch. Of course, we followed the back roads and had a delightful run through the picturesque countryside.
After lunch it was back to the roads less travelled, through The Oaks to Wallacia and on through Penrith to Richmond. After settling in to our room for the night we teamed up with the group from Canberra Chapter for dinner in Richmond.
Sunday dawned crisp and clear promising a great day for the Presidents Picnic. Arriving at Ebenezer we parked our car (in the wrong spot) and made for our appointed duty as morning coffee assistants. This proved to be a dream assignment because we got to meet all our friends as they arrived for some great barista coffee and cakes.
Time for a little more fraternising with friends then it was time for lunch. A terrific lunch was served by the volunteers from the church and soon everyone was sitting around in the park munching away. Time for some more catching up with friends then it was time for the trip home, in our case a lovely little four-hour blast down the highway to home.
Plenty of time for a large Scotch, a short report and then a quick dinner.
