Shoalhaven Heads Twilight Run

30 January, 2025

There was a lot of excitement in the air as fifteen members geared up for South Coast’s first ever Twilight Run. After the initial drive up the freeway…yuk…but there’s no avoiding it, the convoy turned off at Berry onto Woodhill Mountain Road, and this is where the fun began. After navigating the twists and turns on this road we continued to Wattamolla Road which added a few U-turns to the journey. Light rain began to fall, but we all drove on with our tops down. Maybe not such a great idea when we passed The Dairy at Beauridge Farm… some of us held our breath! Next turn was on to Kangaroo Valley Road which was just as much fun to drive and eventually the mist and rain cleared to sunshine. We had a great drive as there were no traffic or roadworks to hold us up - just a few potholes to navigate.

If you haven’t driven this route in your MX5 before you must try it as it also offers amazing pastoral views.

The exciting part of the drive came to an end when we drove through the main street of Berry with no traffic holdups, which was a welcome surprise, before arriving at Shoalhaven Heads Pub for dinner. We met six more members and visitors making a total of twenty-one for dinner. The group decided to eat outside to take advantage of the beaut weather and views along the waterfront.

Thanks, Geoff, for organising this run. Hopefully it was the first of many more twilight runs.
