RANGERS TWISTERS II – THURSDAY 20th FEBRUARY 2020
We started out from Haywards Bay with 10 cars including 1 from Canberra for our first midweek run of the year. What a beautiful day it was with the sun shining not too hot for a glorious tops down day. We headed off with Bill and Jan in their VW bringing up the tail. We headed over the highway bridge towards Yallah as we twisted and turned out way through the picturesque Calderwood Valley, everything was so green after the recent rainfall. We had a good run up Macquarie Pass before we caught Bill & Jan who somehow ended up in front of us after taking a different route. It was like Puff the Magic Dragon as they blew smoke while their VW dumped the contents of the particle filter through the exhaust as if it had blown the turbo, they waved us all through and then took up the rear again. At Robertson Neil & Cathy Tribe joined in as we weaved our way through to Fitzroy Falls Reservoir for morning tea. Boots were opened as cakes, slices, biscuits and chocolates with a coffee or two were enjoyed.
After morning tea we heading through Kangaroo Valley, Berry and then into the Shoalhaven area before stopping at Shoalhaven Heads Bowling Club for a lovely lunch which was enjoyed by all. Special mention must go to Simon McKern for joining us he left Canberra and 7 am joined us for the whole run and then after lunch was heading back home via Batemans Bay. A big day's drive for Simon.
