Pickled Octopus

Sunday morning and it was raining, a check on the BOM weather site showed that rain further down the coast was less overnight than around Jervis Bay, the weather forecast for Moruya was positive showing the possibility of light rain about 3pm. So fingers, arms, and legs crossed we pressed the go button. From Jervis Bay to Ulladulla showers and light rain were experienced, as we passed Batemans Bay we experienced dull but dry conditions which remained for the remainder of the journey. We stopped for a coffee break at the Mossy Point Boat ramp coffee caravan where Nicky, who had driven up from Cobargo, was waiting to greet us. We were shortly joined by Mike and Madhu from Long Beach, Mike showed us the 4WD abilities of his MX5 negotiating the lumps and bumps in the car park whilst finding a suitable parking spot.
After coffee (and cake for some) and a chat it was time to hit the road for The Pickled Octopus at Tuross Head, an uneventful run which turned eventful when we came across major roadworks in Tuross which meant navigating a lengthy diversion. Eventually everyone arrived safely at the restaurant and we sat down to a superb Thai seafood meal accompanied by lots of lively chatter about many subjects. All too soon it was time to depart.
Farewells said and everyone departed tops down in the watery afternoon sunshine agreeing that it had been a great run further down the South Coast bringing together members from the extremities of the South Coast chapter region.
I failed to mention that it must have been an MX5 adventure as all participants managed to get misplaced at least once during the day.
