MX-5's at The Bend in 2023

The MX-5 Club of Victoria & Tasmania has hired the International Circuit at The Bend Motorsport Park in South Australia for a MX-5 track day on Sunday 23rd April 2023.

This will be an MX-5 centric day open to all members of all the affiliated state MX-5 clubs. It will be operated in a sprint format with, depending upon entry numbers, three or four run groups. Timing will be available so the various clubs can have either intra-club or inter-club competitions on the day. The  plan is for the event to consist of sprint sessions all day to maximise track time, with no parade laps or other extra-curricular activities etc.

Currently, the anticipated cost will be in the region of $320-$330 per entrant, with timing devices and carport or pit garage hire being extra. This is the same as if you were to currently attend one of The Bend’s own track days. The event will actually be run for us on the day by The Bend’s own experienced events team so that we can all enjoy a day on the track and not be running around doing the organising.

Entries will be via the MX-5 Club of Victoria & Tasmania’s event portal, and all entrants will also need to complete The Bend’s online disclaimer etc. (can’t escape the paperwork). Standard requirements with regard to appropriate licences, car condition and safety equipment etc., will also apply.

This is an opportunity to drive a new and exciting track. If you have never been there, The Bend is a fantastic near new facility and if you want to see what it’s like, we will be running the International Circuit, the same as used recently by the Supercars, so you can look it up on YouTube or Foxtel etc.

Although the facility is 106 kilometres south east of Adelaide near the town of Tailem Bend, there are plenty of accommodation options available, ranging from an on-site Rydges hotel to nearby caravan parks and with motels in Tailem Bend.
