Hunter Chichester Dam Picnic

Sunday the 24th of November turned on a bright sunny and fairly warm but tolerable day our not so little group of some 24 club members with 14 very well turned out MX-5’s gathered at the meeting point of Anaconda Rutherford at 9:30 for Bob and Wendy’s run briefing.
We tout along the New England High Way through Lochinvar, Luskintyre, Elderslie and Mitchels Flat enjoying how lush and green the country side was
As we wound our way through the Valley then a run across the ridge on Bingleburra Rd before turning off onto the road to Chichester Dam ( a few rough spots here and there but not too bad) arriving at our picnic spot around 12:30ish we all sought the shady side of the picnic grounds to enjoy our lunch, after lunch our intrepid run leaders had prepared a trivia quiz all about Chichester Dam we all learned some interesting facts about the Dam and prizes of a bag of sweets for those who answered (guessed) correctly.
Then it was down to the Dam wall for a walk around and view of this engineering marvel it was here we picked up a few extra passengers for the run home there must be a healthy tick population there, then it was time to head home the heat was quite intense now so most put the roof up and the air conditioning on high for the run home.
Many thanks to Bob & Wendy for organising a great day out with more than a few laughs had by all.
Ps-now we know how well you do lead navigator Wendy we expect to hear from you more often.
