Coffee at Vintage on Melbourne

10 cars set off from Spears Point swimming centre, 9 Mx-5’s and Phil in his Landcruiser, while the weather was misty and sprinkling. Leaving the parking area, we followed the road over Five Islands bridge to Teralba. A small miner’s village from the past now a booming new housing area. Turning on to Rhonda Rd which on any other day would have been great with its little twists and turns but with the wet roads it made it a little slippery. Always Safety First. Driving Wakefield Rd through to Holmesville which has been built up over the years changing the scenery from a nice rural setting to now just another suburb. With the weather improving the crazy one’s put the roof down as normal. From here we climbed the hill past Mt sugarloaf towards Buchanan and on to East Maitland. Rain stopping for the remainder of the run.
Arriving at the venue we observed what Rob had warned us of a large rolled gutter waiting to take the front ends of the cars. So, it was backing in only, Thanks for the heads up Rob.
The café was a lovely old building converted to a café with a small amount of room inside and more outside. The atmosphere would have been great if not for the menacing chill from the cold rainy day. With Jackets on, our coffee and hot chocolate, good company and tasty treat made it great morning.
Thank you to Rob for leading and organising the run and to Phill as our tail end keeping us all in line.
