Bundeena

25 September, 2025

Our MX5 run to Bundeena began at Hungry Jacks Bomaderry on a lovely sunny 24 degree Spring morning. Kerry, Ian, Keith, Sue, Anda and myself headed off in convoy after being suitably refreshed with coffee.

We were all colour coordinated too with white – red – white - red MX5s all with tops down.   Zoom Zoom !

After heading along the A1 Highway we made a detour via Foxground and onto the old highway. Great MX5 winding roads. Then on to Mt Kiera lookout with breathtaking views to Sydney, Wollongong and along the coastline. Made better by lovely clear blue skies.

After stretching our legs, and taking many photos, we were off to our next destination, the Southern Gateway Centre, accessed by doing a loop off the Highway. Delicious gelato being the highlight there, and we just had to indulge, The choice was endless. More fabulous views from the windows and outside from the balcony.

I had driven past the Centre numerous times in the past but this was my first stop there. It is really worth a visit.

Next we headed down Bulli Pass and through the many villages including Thirroul and Austinmer, and across the amazing Sea Cliff Bridge. We continued on through the Royal National Park to the sounds of whip birds and black cockatoos which dotted many trees along the way,

We then arrived at our lunch destination at Bundeena, a very picturesque spot. We dined at the Bundeena Community and Services Club. Here we were joined by two other club members, Mark and Julie, from our Sydney Chapter.

Lunch was delicious and the menu included fish and chips, and burgers which were colossal. Great food, great service and great company.

After lunch we all went our separate ways.

Many thanks to Kerry, our organizer, for a most enjoyable run.
