Boatfalls Treasures

A beautiful, warm sunny Thursday morning saw 11 cars with 20 members meet up at Clarencetown Lions Park having managed to safely navigate our way along one of the two potholed roads leading there. Somehow our organisers, Les & Kathy, added to safety focus as most of us were pulled in by the random breath testing unit on the outskirts of town. Thankfully, we were all allowed to continue on our way.
Once everyone had arrived, our convoy proceeded from the park to Boatfalls Treasures café, a short cruise of 6km along Limeburners Creek Road.
What a lovely setting for coffee and a chat! The owners have set up casual seating under some big shady trees and run a shop filled with interesting ‘treasures’ as well as offering coffees, teas and a delectable range of cakes & scones. Their black & white staffie, “Bucket” came to visit each table in turn to make sure we had everything we needed (and thankyou pats were definitely well received). The relaxed, spacious setting gave the perfect opportunity for people to move around and chat, and quite of a few of the group were still there at lunchtime! Quite a few also found something of interest for Christmas presents at their little shop before deciding which of the 2 roads was the least potholed to undertake their drive home.
The coffee was excellent and the cakes delicious – and as always, the company was great. Thanks to Les and Kathy for finding this out-of-the-way spot and hosting this social event.
