24th Cobra Nationals 2017
The MX-5 Club has been asked if we would like to participate in the 24th Cobra Nationals 2017.
It is a three day track event held at Wakefield Park on September 29, 30 and October 1 2017
Normally there are 60-80 entrants to this event. Although the entries consist mostly of Cobras, Daytonas and GT40s, normally around 15-20 non-Cobras participate also.
The basic events that happen each day are below:
FRIDAY SHAKEDOWN EVENTS include
- Vehicle Checking
- Track practice
- Driver Mentoring observer laps
- Passenger Ride Laps
- Meet & Greet Buffet at Mercure Hotel
- Preliminary Drivers Information Briefing at Mercure Hotel
SATURDAY EVENTS include
- Show and Shine (COBRAS) – Grassed Area behind Main Straight
- Drivers Briefing (compulsory) - To take place during the Judging of Show and Shine
- Slalom, Hill Climb and Straight Dash events run concurrently
- Single Hot Lap Sprint
- Passenger Laps
- Open practice
- Saturday Night Dinner, Award Presentation and Entertainment at Goulburn Soldiers Club (Buses operating for this dinner)
SUNDAY EVENTS SCHEDULE – 1 October 2017

- Supersprints
- Sunday Night Dinner and Award Presentation at Goulburn Workers Club (Buses operating for this dinner)
The Entry Fee for the 3 day event is $550 and includes, the three days at the track, Friday, Saturday and Sunday night dinners, buses to and from dinners on Saturday and Sunday night, an event T-Shirt and a Show bag.
