2014 CAMS NSW Supersprint Trophy Presentation
11 March 2015 / David Lawler
Following the first NSW Supersprint of 2015 at Sydney Motorsport Park on 8th March, there was a presentation in the cafe of trophies for the 2014 CAMS NSW Supersprint Championship.
The trophies were awarded to type and class winners. Supersprinters score points in "type" categories based on the level of modification of their car, eg standard in type 1, modified in type 2 etc, and also in a "class" within each type based on engine capacity. The number of places in each class or type which are awarded trophies is dependent on the number of competitors in that class.
The trophy winners from our club were:
- Stewart Temesvary - 1st in Type 1 & Class 1B,
- Bryan Shedden - 2nd in Type 1 and Class 1B
- Keith Monaghan - 3rd in Class 1B
- Scott McGarry - 1st in Class 2A
- Tony Williams - 3rd in Class 2A
- Ralph Thompson - 1st in Class 2B
- Russ Maxwell - 3rd in Class 2B
- Luke Kovacic - 3rd in Class 2C
- Kevin Addison - 2nd in Class 3B
- David Lawler - 1st in Class 4B
- Ed Cory - 2nd in Class 4B
- Gus Elias - 2nd in Class SVB
- Mike Hicks - 3rd in Class SVB
A special mention must be made of the Type 1 win by Stewart Temesvary. He scored the most points of all drivers in standard road cars, and this is quite an acheivement in an MX-5. Well done Stewart.
The MX-5 Club of NSW did of course win the 2014 NSW Supersprint Championship, and the championship shield was awarded last year. Bryan Shedden brough the shield along to this presnetatien ceremony to show it off. Nice one Bryan.
Hopefully we will see even more MX-5 Club winners at the 2015 NSW Supersprint presentation.
