Where it all began - Carrington Falls Picnic
Ashley and I had our first serious ‘date’ at Carrington Falls back in 2009, so I thought it was most appropriate to propose at the same location, on the 22nd of June 2013.
We will make our way from Bungendore, up through Tarago and Bungonia. We will stop at the Meridian Cafe in Marulan for a coffee break, then make our way up the Hume and cut in through Moss Vale into Robertson then onto the falls themselves for a picnic lunch.
The falls are beautiful and quite a short walk from the picnic area (about 1km).
Recce Notes: the road from Bungendore to Tarago has two sections of roadworks which are gravel (so don’t wash your car before the run!). Tarago to Marulan, not too bad, similar number of potholes as per usual.
Distance to the Falls is about 160 km from Bungendore. Return to Canberra via the Hume Boreway is about 190 km.

Run Grade: This is a long run, suitable for most drivers. It features a few lumpy bits, and a good bit of highway driving. The Club’s Grading System is described at https://nsw.mx5.com.au/events/important-information/run-gradings.
