Nulon Nationals Round 1
In 2014, Nulon decided to give back to the car clubs of Australia by creating an event focused on bringing different clubs and demographics together. The Nulon Nationals were born - an interclub three round based event that is held on some of the most interesting roads in Australia. Each team puts forward five cars to compete in a range of events including hillclimbs, time attack, and a head-to-head battle down an airport runway. This annual event attracts some of Australia's fastest road and track cars in a friendly competition with great prizes.
Nulon put on a great event in 2014 with them paying all the competition fees, putting on BBQs, and suppling some accommodation. Up to the last round, it was a tight battle between the 86 Club and the MX-5 Club, but the 86 guys beat us at the post. This year we plan to be give them much tougher competition.
Nulon Australia will be hosting the Nulon Nationals once again in 2015 and the MX-5 Club of NSW have been selected to continue our participation. We have put a team of drivers together wth most of the crew from 2014 returning for another go. The series has been expanded to four rounds in 2015, with the addition of a motorkhana \round that is intended to suit low horsepower / high handling cars like our MX-5s.
