Twilight run to West Head

It was a balmy 27° as we left McDonald’s Mount Colah on our scenic  adventure in the Ku-ring-gai Chase NP. We were please to be joined by new members David  and Giretta Carter. The scenery was stunning with vistas of distant hills or shimmering waters appearing by surprise as we rounded some of the many corners.

Our little convoy of eight differently coloured Mx5’s firstly enjoyed a sweeping descent on the Bobbin Head Road before climbing back out of the National Park and into the melee of civilisation at North Turramurra.

Despite losing visual contact on Mona Vale Road, we managed to regroup at Terrey Hills for re-entry into the National Park and a scenic loop through Akuna Bay. There were just a few cyclists and oncoming vehicles to be wary of as we enjoyed the undulating road and its tightening bends.

The final section of our trifecta of loops was a faster (but legal) run out to West Head where we at last stopped to stretch our legs and admire the view across Pittwater. A few spots of rain fell, so that the return to Terrey Hills was done with most roofs up. The rain definitely didn’t dampen our spirits and we all enjoyed our meal at Terrey Hills Tavern. A great way to end a great night.
