Our intrepid group assembled at the Hunter Valley Information Centre at 8:45 on an overcast Thursday morning.
After a quick briefing we mounted up and headed out onto going across to Lovedale Rd via Wilderness Rd and eventually onto the New England Hwy before turning left onto Melbourne St (East Maitland) and heading out through Morpeth where we struck a bit of a wrinkle in our carefully laid plans.
The road at Edwards St was closed for maintenance still a quick ” u” turn 1 block back 2 up and a left and we were back at Morpeth Common for a rolling regroup and on to Duckenfield a very picturesque old farming area.
It was at about this time some of our group thought we may be lost and heading up some ones drive way due to the narrowness of the quaint county roads I had obviously succeeded in taking people to places they had never been before.
Then it was back out onto Raymond terrace Rd across the bride to Raymond Terrace and out around the dam and onto Medowie and the tasty treats that awaited us at the Macadamia Nut Farm in all 10 MX-5’s with some 18 members aboard enjoyed the day out.
