Canberra Chapter Proposed Events Program for 2026

25 November 2025 / Steve Wakeling - Events Coordinator

Your Events Committee has been hard at it preparing an events program for 2026.

This will give you a good idea of what’s coming up (so you can start planning now), but please refer to the individual event notice on the website for details and up-to-date information. (All events will new posted on the website as soon as possible.)

Please note that the program is subject to change (for a whole lot of reasons).

You can download the proposed Canberra Chapter 2026 Events Program here.

Have a look, print it off, stick it on your fridge and pencil in the dates in your diary!

We have tried to create an events calendar to cater for all members, regardless of their experience with their MX-5 or the Club. To the extent possible the program includes:

- social events and runs
- mid-week and weekend runs
- day runs and multi-day/overnight runs
- shorter, picnic-style runs (particularly during the warmer months) and longer day runs
- relaxed and challenging runs
- two events (or more) each month, in addition to the regular Coffee & Lies catch-up.

This year, for something different, we've added a short 'mystery run' each month. They will generally be a nice drive (up to 300km return) to a local Pub, Club or Cafe for lunch. The destination will be provided to those participating on the day. We are also proposing monthly weekend picnic runs, which will follow a similar approach.

Please note that Event Leaders may limit the number of vehicles (or persons) attending an event/run for safety or logistical reasons at their discretion. Some events, especially multi-day overnight runs, may have limited capacity due to accommodation requirements. If you are interested in one of these runs, it would be wise to make early contact with the Event Leader for more information and to register your interest.

We would like to engage a few more members to lead runs. Our experienced run leaders are happy to mentor any member who would like to give it a try. If you'd like to give it a go, contact our Convenor, John Chapuis, or Steve Wakeling.

We would also be happy to take suggestions for suitable events and runs. Again, contact John or Steve.
